This cable is used to connect the component video output of a DVD player or HDTV receiver to a projector or plasma TV that can accept the same component video signal through a 15 pin VGA type port. Ideal for high definition components including HDTV, satellites, and receivers. The Device to which the "VGA" connector is connected, needs to support Component video (Y-Pr-Pb) for this type of cable to work. This is common for projectors. Some other displays also support Y-Pr-Pb through the HD15 (VGA) connector. Check your Plasma, Projector or HDTV manual for specifications. This cable is not designed to work in anyway with a computer input or output.
